On January 4th, 1990, I was birthed into the world as an 8 pound 6 ounce little tike. I went
through my years as a toddler, which was a lovely good time, and eventually went to school, etc. When I was 9 years old, I competed in my first triathlon. After a few years of sub-par soccer performances, I decided I would like to give it a real go in triathlons. At 11 years of age, I competed in my first national triathlon championships. Now 8 years in advance, I have finally attained that glorious title of a national champion. There were many close-calls, and first place rankings, but it wasn't until last weekend in Tuscaloosa where I won Nationals on a beautiful day. I can honestly say I have had few race weekends which were this fun. A ton of old friends, rivals, and family were there either watching or competing, which is always encouraging no matter what the circumstances are. I don't wish to bore you with any details, but I'll leave you with a few thousand words (pictures are worth a thousand, right?)
